Overview

The MIT Medical Laboratory is committed to accuracy and efficiency in providing test results for its patients. We conduct tests ordered by MIT Medical physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and referral providers. Our specialties include microbiology, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing.

Lipid Panels

For lipid panels, patients should fast for a minimum of 9 hours, taking nothing more than small amounts of water. Ask your physician about taking prescribed medications.

Appointments

Due to extended time required to perform these tests, patients who need a semen analysis or therapeutic phlebotomy should call for an appointment. For other testing, you can stop by during lab hours, as long as your clinician has ordered the required lab tests.

Lab Results

Most test results are available within 24-48 hours. To protect patient confidentiality, test results are reported directly to the clinician who ordered the work. Please call your doctor for the results or any questions regarding your orders.
