Harvard and MIT to share expanded pediatric coverage for weekends and holidays

MIT Medical and Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) are partnering to provide additional pediatric urgent care coverage on weekends and holidays starting October 3, 2009. There will now be a pediatrician on site to see patients on those days at either MIT Medical or HUHS Holyoke Center—the locations will alternate.
If your child has an urgent medical problem on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday:

In an emergency situation, call 911
When you call, the office may...
- have you speak to a doctor or nurse
- have you make an appointment for your child on the next business day
- arrange to have your child seen that day by a pediatrician at HUHS or MIT Medical
- direct you to a hospital emergency room
A pediatrician will be available at one of the two sites from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Please do not go to either location without first calling to confirm where the pediatrician is working that day.
Remember... Always call first, and bring your insurance card with you.
