Are you feeling stressed? Do you wish you could help yourself to start exercising, stop overeating, or control chronic pain? Try one of the new workshops offered by the Center for Health Promotion and Wellness (CHPW) at MIT Medical.
The “Healthy Living” series kicks off this fall with a variety of hour-long, midday workshops that use a mind-body approach to help participants get motivated to exercise, manage stress, meditate for better health, reduce stress-related overeating, or reduce pain. The workshops, which are free and open to the MIT community, are led by Zan Barry, a CHPW program manager, with guest speakers in some cases.
“These workshops will help participants feel supported in their health-behavior goals so they don’t feel they have to do everything by themselves, which we all know is very difficult to do,” said Barry. “It’s just another perk of being part of this community.”
For more details on the workshops and to register online, go to the Healthy Living webpage. Registered participants will get a confirmation email before the workshop, as well as printed materials and activities to use at home afterwards.
